Loved this place! This was my first visit to a restaurant in Central Point. Sing, a lovely sushi chef served me at the counter. He created a "Central Point Roll" which had crab, cream cheese and lightly breaded with panko bread crumbs and fried. WOW! It was like butter in my mouth! So delicious! If I can go back during this trip I will. It was spectacular. I also had another roll which Sing recommended which was also good. The fish was fresh, the service terrific and I watched the waitress hug some return customers. If you are looking for ambiance, this is not the place to go. I sat at the counter which very much felt like a 50's lunch counter. But who cares about ambiance when the food is great and the prices are right! If you are looking for great sushi in Central Point.. give Sing and his friends a visit!

These folks need to get the word out --- I had read about this place and asked the chocolate shop, rogue creamery, and a couple of wineries about the sushi place in Central Point --- no one had heard of it. Sushi is good - great for the area. The tempura would stand up as excellent anywhere. Great value, lovely people - gave us a "surprise" dessert and a coupon for the next time --- and next time I am in the area I will definitely go.

Sushi was terrible mostly just california rolls offers with different veriations, but none of the ones we tried were good

It is certainly the best place to eat in Central Point, no question. However, I do know other sushi places in the Valley that are more to my taste. They could use a little more variety. I believe a restruarant should experiment a little. But the price is definitely right. Especially these days. Zen Zen is definitely worth stopping by.

What a great little sushi spot. Sushi rolls are so delicious! I have had sushi every where and this place is a top contender amongst my favorites. We had the jungle roll, rainbow roll and a couple other amazing rolls. The food is darn good and so is the service. They give you a little plate of fried bananas at the end of your meal. This place is top notch!

Im not in kansas any more!! Wow i hope this place is not a sign of whats in store for me out here. I ordered "spicy honey teriyaki" it was menu item #2. Thats exactly what it tasted like, #2! i visualized grilled chicken with teriyaki sauce, this dish had veggies it looked more like a stir fry entree which lacked flavor and chicken looked like a vegetarian dish that was sprinkled with bits of chicken. The restaurant was dead as hell the guy making the sushi looked like he hated his life, didnt get a greet or nothing. Now that i think about it, it looked like i was being mad dogged. The mizo soup lacked salt, the sushi roll was the worst one bite and i was immediately regretting my choice of sushi and restaurant. They did bring deep fried banana dessert With whip cream and chocolate sauce. 10 minutes later when i got back on the freeway my stomach made that sound that lets u know ur in trouble and u better hurry up a bathroom. On the bright side i wont ever be back but on the down side my stomach feels like a kamikaze and i have to go do a banzai drop and say sayonara to something viscous in the bathroom. Only reason i gave em 2 stars was because the service was decent.

We are from SF Bay Area and have seen a lot of sushi places. This was very nice. The service was awesome and the food is great. Check out Volcano Roll for sure!

Best fish I can find down here in southern Oregon and the service is exceptional. I visit them EVERY time I come here for work. 5 stars all the way around!

Oh my god CENTRAL POINT, OREGON you have a gem. Food unreal. Had the hot chicken and rice. Brown rice was perfect. Chicken spot on taste. Only draw back was I wanted noodles and hot chicken and they would not allow. Why???? Don't know. But give it a try you will not be disappointed

We were in town for a softball double header and 9 of us went in for sushi before heading back to Eugene. There was only one woman taking orders and serving. She was great. The food was superb. We will definitely be back next softball season and any other time that we are in the area!

Stop during a road trip. Not sure how this place get so many good reviews. The sushi is not good at all even though it's pricy. The sashimi on top of the sushi was so small that you can barely find it. Someone mentioned the bento box but the chicken is so sweet. My friend also has abdominal pain right after lunch.

Small town place with good food. My favorite place for sushi. Central point roll is awesome but you really can't go wrong with any of there options. Service is good and enjoy eating here often.

My fiance and I were craving sushi and wanted to try somewhere new and affordable on a budget. We decided to try Zen Zen based on customer reviews. This place is by far one of the best around. Great portions for the price! We both got a bento box and were more than satisfied with it. You even get a complimentary fried banana for dessert! It was our first time eating a fried banana and it was DELICIOUS! We will definitely be back again.

When I came in it was 2:45pm on a Thursday, I was the only one in the place, the owner and cook were on their phones, sitting at a table, which to me is a huge no-no, the place is decent but you can smell the grease from the fryer the moment you walk in...is it seeping in my pores yet?! I ordered the central point roll as a previous review said I should and also the mango muchi! They were both beautifully represented and tasted amazing! I too would recommend the central point roll! I was never asked if I needed anything or how I was doing but the owner made sure I had my bill before he left. Very disappointed in the service, great food, well prepared thanks to the chef!

The restaurant itself looks fairly average, so I wasn't expecting anything spectacular. However, the rolls we ordered were fantastic. The prices are very reasonable and the service was fast. I will return here. The only reason I left a star off is the lack of atmosphere. For how nice the sushi is, it seems like it would belong in a more ambient setting. But for the price, I'm very happy.

a word of warning for people who are allergic to incense make sure to order your food "to go" or you will be regretting it by the end of the meal. after reading through all of yelps reviews my brother and I chose this place for our weekly new restaurant meal and showed up around 1:00PM. upon walking in we were greeted, not with a smile, but with an awkward silence and two sets of eyes staring at us . our waitress got up from where she was sitting, put away her phone and promptly asked if we wanted our food to go. (to be honest it felt like we interrupted her and she was hoping she would not have to work) . after clearing up that no, we were there to eat. she looked away from us leading to another awkward pause of us wondering if we should sit at a table or wait for her . after she noticed us still standing there she locked eyes with us leading to a very awkward three way staring contest. only at that point we were told we were allowed to sit anywhere. since this was our first time visiting this restaurant we tried three rolls the Vampire the Volcano and the California. the rolls were all surprisingly good and very easy on the eyes. the Volcano being our favorite of the three the Vampire falling below the California. I really don't know how that happened as the vampire has all my favorite ingredients on it. but even then, it was good just a little bland. I hope to eat here again and try some other items.

Terrific food. We stopped by this place for dinner during a road trip. My family ordered shrimp tempura, chicken teriyaki, yakitori veggies, red snapper, tuna sashimi, and volcano rolls and Fuji rolls. Everything was outstanding.

Was in town for just one night and was looking at yelp for some suggestions. I saw Zen Zen and was in the mood for sushi! This place was great. It has a comfortable environment and friendly staff. The sushi was delicious and I would highly recommend checking this place out!

I've driven through Medford many, many times on I-5, but I'm in the middle of my first real stint in town (here for 10 days for work). I've been asking a lot of locals (and Yelping) to find the hidden treasures around here - and I think that Zen Zen definitely qualifies as a hidden gem! Because I'm staying and working out of Medford, I would have never known about this fantastic restaurant in Central Point if it hadn't been for the recommendation of a colleague. We had lunch here on Monday - and what a lunch it was! We started with the garlic edamame and cucumber salad- HIGHLY recommend! The beans are steamed but then smothered in a garlic-chili sauce that is spicy, but not overpowering. Even though they're called "garlic", it's not solely a garlic flavor. Very, very tasty. I really enjoyed the cucumber salad, too. It was perfectly sour and they sprinkled it with sesame seeds which game the salad an earthier flavor than I'm used to - really a nice touch. My friend and I shared three rolls. This plate was a work of art! It was as pretty as it was tasty! We had the Central Point roll for free (my friend saved her receipt from the last visit so it qualified us for a freebie!), and added a volcano roll and a spicy roll - it's killing me that I can't remember the name, but it had a white fish inside with jalapeno and avocado (I think) and it was topped with spicy tuna and spicy mayo sauce. All three rolls were absolutely delectable! The volcano roll with the baked seafood topper was a whole lot of creamy goodness. The spicy roll had some good heat, but wasn't over-the-top. Service was quick & friendly - our waters never got below half-full and the pot of tea was kept piping hot. We even got a little dessert - a tempura-fried banana with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. A perfect little two-bite finale to a fantastic lunch. I'm only in town for 10 days but I'll have to find time to get back to Central Point for more of what Zen Zen has to offer!

Excellent sushi. We stopped here on our way through because of yelp reviews and glad we did, the food was some of the best and prices were not too expensive for sushi. Btw we did not smell a stron incense smell when we were there.

The bento basket is by far my favorite meal in Central Point. It's combination of teriyaki chicken, sushi and biggies are delicious. I only give it 4 starts because it's a little more expensive, but for the occasional lunch or dinner I highly recommend.

SO good! I consider myself a sushi snob, and this is the best place I've been to in the valley so far. Can't wait to come back!

This is my Friday lunch hotspot! I always order the maguro, so delicious, and a different designer roll. I have not been disappointed yet. Thumbs up from me!!

I have gone here faithfully for over a year, I bring friends and get them hooked too! Nice variety and the Central Point roll is not only great priced and beautiful on the plate, it tastes like magic in my mouth! Spider roll was fun and delicious. I've had a ton of other items off the menu too and they were all excellent as well! I feel valued as a guest here and the deep fried banana smothered in whipped cream and drizzled chocolate put a smile on my familys face! Just when I thought the freebies were already given to us, they gave us a slip of paper good for any roll free on our next visit! Any roll! Woweeeee! Being able to watch the Chef prepare your rolls was really cool and impressive. A diamond in the rough for sure!!!

Hands down best sushi place in the valley. Service great and attentive, rolls (everything we've tried) are amazing, beer selection descent, menu options comprehensive, soda is fizzy, desert (fried banana w/cream) is on the house, convenient location, and they even play good music, (Adel, Jack Johnson, etc.). Plus if you spend in $20, $30, or $50 increments, you get a voucher for a free roll on your next trip that ranges from $6 - any roll ($14 rolls included!).

Delicious sushi, and awesome service. I highly recommend giving this establishment a visit if you are in the Central Point area. Street parking in front, and a park and walk parking lot just around the corner on 2nd street. I have never had a bad roll from them and the Unagi is to die for, soooo tasty.

Yum! We picked up a to-go order. While ordering, the woman was very patient with me, going over all the options and giving recommendations as I didn't have a menu and this was my first visit. She was able to give me a multitude of veggie and kid-friendly options. When we showed up ten minutes later, our food was waiting for us. They were very understanding and friendly with my loud toddler. They even threw in a coupon for a free Cali roll on my next visit! You can bet there will be another visit too! Everything was amazing! We got the Central Point roll (was highly recommended) plus the veggie roll, and edamame and a chicken teriyaki bowl for my little one. The place was small but cozy and we will probably eat in next time. Friendly staff, good food, GREAT price (only $25 for all that food!!), and a chill environment. What more could you want? Especially in Central Point, apparent home of the greasy spoon diner. ;)

Absolutely the BEST sushi and Japanese food in the valley. They have a small staff, but the food comes fairly quickly, and the service is excellent. Number one choice for eastern food in Central Point.

Was very good! Also as far as sushi goes it was also reasonably priced! I got the bento special and it was very very appetizing. I love sushi and it was a great way to kick my craving. That being said the menu was very limited, even if everything on it was great. Would like to see a little more diverse menu as there are so many great foods they can add to the menu. The place is a bit small but it is cozy and has a decent amount of room for customers. Overall it was a great place to eat for a good price and had delicious food!

Price was reasonable and plates were attractive but that's as far as the positive comment goes. Server basically did her job did not check in with us wasn't polite didn't smile didn't even say thank you when we left. The sushi was subpar to say the least not tasty at all and my tempura crab roll with a "C" was actually fake krab. The menu has no descriptions of most of the rolls so my daughters tuna roll was just that tuna and rice. The bathrooms were also dirty which says a lot about the kitchen. With my many sushi options, we were not happy and won't be going back.

Whatever you do , DO NOT order the sushi/raw foods. They are of all you can eat quality type of sushi that are hard and frozen. I ordered a sashimi and it came out still frozen from the package. The chicken teriyaki is good , lean, and generous in portion. There was hardly any one there. I couldn't finish my foods because of the smell of lack of freshness. The owner is a very disgruntled person. He would unlock the door but wouldn't open or even greet customers. The waitress is nice though. No more Zen Zen. They put the Zzzz into their business.

Decided to drive a little further to try this place and I'm sure glad I did! The restaurant is cozy, well lit and while on the smaller side seemed like it could still accommodate a fair amount of people. The sushi menu offered several options and they all sounded good. We settled on miso soup, a super dragon roll and a pine street roll. Everything was delicious! They even give you a little treat at the end of your meal (spoiler alert: it's a small bite of fried banana drizzled with chocolate and topped with whipped cream) Our server was sweet and very attentive with service. Overall a great meal and experience.

Sushi taste great and prepared excellent. We have ate at alot of sushi resturant through out the Rogue Valley and Zen Zen ranks at the top, are new favorite. the atmosphere is relaxing with comforting music in the background. we started of with edamame served warm with the right amount of salt. We then had the crazy roll and deja role, one spicy one sweet. both were prepared similar but different tastes, very good. we finished off with the fried banana, oh ya. The staff were very friendly and helpful with suggestions. If your looking for great sushi, then this is your place.

I went here with my husband and baby. It was about 500 degrees outside so it was really nice to walk into a cooler atmosphere without light shining in. They had booths and tables and we sat ourselves at a table. We got a few rolls and a cucumber salad. Everything was prepared fast and fresh. The service was really great. The only downside was that the tables and high chair were sticky. Like they only used water to clean them. I was here from out of state or I would return.
